How many watts of electricity does a 1.5 ton AC use in 1 hour?

How many watts of electricity does a 1.5 ton AC use in 1 hour?

All the answers are giving the actual kw cooling BUT the AC is a heat pump and the efficiency is normally between 2and 2.5, which means, the electricity power needed for a kw cooling is obtained by dividing the cooling kw by 2 or 2.5 depending on the AC unit and it’s manufacturer’s stated efficiency (Overall, including the fans consumption).

Also, you must specify the unit system you are using for the 1.5 ton of cooling: traditionally, a ton of cooling is taken as 12000 BTUh imperial system. Therefore, 1.5 is 18,000 BTUh. You can convert it to kj by x 1.055 = 18,999 or 19,000 kj then /3600 =5.277 kW

If efficiency =2, then 5.277/2= 2.638 kW and for 1 hour = 2.638 kWh (units).

You can do the same method if you are using Metric ton, which is 1kW and for 1.5 it will be 1.5kW cooling (not electric). then 1.5/2=0.75kWh (units).
